Wee Gillis, Munro Leaf and Robert Lawson
September 23, 2006
Munro Leaf and Robert Lawson are two of my all-time favorite children's authors/illustrators. If you haven't discovered their books, please try to find them. Some of have been reissued, and you can still find them at garage sales and on Ebay.

Wee Gillis- a very, very, very enchanting story our children delighted in, has been reissued in hardback. Wee Gillis was written by Munro Leaf and illustrated (wonderfully!!) by Robert Lawson. Gillis lived in Scotland and his real name was Alastair Roderic Craigellachie Dalhousie Gowan Donnybristle Macmac, but everybody just called him Wee Gillis. He had to decide whether to live in the Lowlands or Highlands of Scotland, and the way he decides, with the drawings enhancing the story, is captivating.
