Books about Wood, building, tools.....

I found a great book at the library- Bruno the Carpenter, by Lars Klinting.

(Interesting, though, because on Amazon, etc, most of the titles are not Bruno, but Harvey) Lars Klinting is a Swedish author, I read that he is also a carpenter, which makes sense- this books shows that he knows what he is writing about.
Bruno's workbench looks very much like my husband's workbench-

An amazing resemblance, don't you think?

I read this book to the Kindergartners, and brought some of my Dear Husband's tools, etc to show them.

The loved seeing the BIG hammer, the little hammer, the BIG screwdriver, the little screwdriver, the nail, the screw, the work glove- everything.
Another book I read that day (a favorite of my grandson's) was The Toolbox by Anne Rockwell.

One of my grandson's favorite sentences in this book is "...and there is a plane that smooths wood and makes curly shavings." I brought the wood plane to Kindergarten, too, and some curly shavings. It was a very satisfying read-aloud day.
